Just be yourself

I caught myself reading someone else’s blog about resolutions.  It seems that the new year is huge for this, but so is the mid-year.  Once being a corporate slug, it’s hard not to compare this to the mid-year performance review.  But I fully agreed with this blog, that resolutions aren’t the way to go.  Relishing in who you are and what you are doing is the better way to go. If you want to make some adjustments or fine tune your life, so be it.  But understand that who you are is not a bad thing that must be immediately corrected or altered.

When I was younger, each time we moved (which was a lot), I would think about the one thing that I didn’t like about myself and resolve to change it in the new city or state.  It’s funny; no one ever told me this one thing was bothersome and I hadn’t lost friends over this little quirk, but somehow I felt it necessary to change.  It never worked anyway!   My advice, be yourself and that will always be enough.
