We are United

What a great day in our history!  Over 60% of Americans voted yesterday and am sure the final tally will be higher.  Democrats won a few states they had not in decades and overall, WE all spoke loud and clear about what we want in the next four years.  I saw we, meaning everyone.  This was not a black or white thing, male or female thing, gay or straight. This was an exercise in democracy in action and was amazing to watch. I was glued to CNN.com all night long, well past 2am last night, watching and absorbing, thrilled and mesmerized.

I have watched Barack’s acceptance speech twice and it gives me incredible chills. I am very much looking forward to the next four years and seeing the Obama family in the White House.  I thought McCain’s concession speech was honorable and unifying. He has given his life to serve the US and didn’t stray from his core belief.  It doesn’t make me regret not voting for him, but as a person, he is a very honorable man.  I look forward to seeing and hearing more of Biden in the coming years.

I have never felt more proud and more American than I have in the past 24 hours.
